Good Light, Bad Light, and Melatonin

All things that are critical to life are provided by nature;

  1. the vibration of joy, which structures the water,
  2. pure, structured water from natural sources,
  3. oxygen (the most abundant element in the body),
  4. our connection to the earth’s electromagnetic field and regenerative colloidal factors in the soil,
  5. and light from the sun.

Restoring these 5 areas to optimal is the basis of our efforts to regenerate like the Long – Living. The previous information blasts (which I like to call “light waves” as they enlighten in weekly waves) have covered oxygen and pH. This week let’s understand why we should get naked and get in the sun every day!

Human Body is a Battery powered by the sunlight and earth

Science is proving that the human body acts as a battery which is charged by the sun and the connection to the earth (grounding). Every cell in the body communicates with biophotons which are packets of light energy. The eyes and the skin serve as the solar panels to receive this energy. The light from the sun, structures the water by separating the positive and negative charges which creates energy. Getting naked and soaking in the morning sun through your skin and eyes is a most important natural method to recharge the battery.

Natural sunlight exposure during the day sets the internal clock of every cell

The human body has a circadian rhythm (internal clock) which controls body physiology and health over 24 hours. This internal clock is controlled by environmental cues including natural light, dark exposure, sleep wake cycles, food intake, and hormone surges. The master pacemaker of the circadian rhythm is the suprachiasmatic nucleus that receives
the information from environmental cues and communicates the timing information to the peripheral clocks in every cell, every tissue and every organ through the endocrine and autonomic nervous system.

The internal clock (circadian rhythm) system regulates physiology and our genes! 
Disruption of this timing system has a wide ranging impact on our health. Desynchronization of these rhythms causes low energy and disease, which is now pervasive in our society, given our indoor lifestyle during the day, exposure to light
at night and disruptive sleep schedules. 

The best way to restore the battery and the internal clock is to:

      1) Follow the natural environmental cues of light and dark from the sun.
          Studies show that the disruption caused by artificial light and work schedules can be  reversed within 7 days of camping without artificial light, phones and computers!

      2) Sleep 8 hours solid without artificial light sources.
          Decades of research shows that sleeping 8 solid hours without waking is critical to human health. As our body sustains thousands of mutations daily, continuous 8 hours of sleep is the time for active and accelerated DNA repair. During continuous sleep, the body also recovers organ systems including the immune system, adrenals, and metabolism. Losing weight, fighting infection and cancer are real challenges when sleep is disturbed.

      3) Avoid exposure to artificial light, get full-spectrum lighting for light bulbs.

      4) Avoid computers, TV, cell phone screens after sunset.

      5) Take Melatonin
          Melatonin plays an important role in when we fall asleep and when we wake up.          Darkness stimulates the release of melatonin and light suppresses its activity. Normal  melatonin cycles and circadian rhythm are disrupted when we are exposed to          excessive light in the evening or too little natural light during the daytime. A normal circadian rhythm is the basis for our health. Melatonin supplementation is well-studied to support the circadian rhythm and protect your health. 

      6) Use Blue-light blocking glasses
         The sun has all the spectrum of colors in the visible range. Not all colors of light have the same effect. Blue wavelengths which are beneficial during daylight hours because they boost attention, reaction times, and mood- seems to be the most disruptive at night. And the proliferation of electronics with screens, as well as energy efficient lighting, is increasing our exposure to blue wavelengths, especially after sundown. An article from Harvard Medical School suggests that if you are exposed to blue light after sundown, wear Bluelight blocking glasses.
